Last month I did a giveaway on Instagram for a free personal brand session, and the winner was Kayla, owner of Sincerely, Ellis, an adorable and affordable boutique in downtown Parkville and the West Bottoms.

Before we began planning her session, I drove out to her Parkville boutique to get to know Kayla a little bit and find out what her brand is all about and what her specific image needs were. I left that meeting feeling so incredibly inspired by Kayla’s story and her work ethic. At just 22 years old, she’s running a very successful business with multiple locations and plans to grow even more in the near future. She credits her success to having parents who aren’t afraid of hard work, and her incredibly supportive and encouraging husband and siblings. The heart behind Sincerely, Ellis is rooted in Kayla’s love for family and community, and she strives to use her voice and business to inspire and empower other ladies to chase after their dreams.

For Kayla’s session, we focused on getting custom images for her website, blog and social media that were full of color, welcoming and light hearted. And she chose to highlight her Parkville boutique, the behind the scenes of her business, and her unique and inviting Main street location in historic Parkville.

Because Sincerely, Ellis has a high inventory turnaround and are constantly getting new items to display, they spend quite a bit of time ordering, pricing and stocking items. We started out by capturing some images of Kayla working at the computer, taking inventory, placing product orders, and taking care of other administrative tasks.

Next, I photographed Kayla hanging and arranging new items, took some bright photos of the interior of the shop, and some detail images that reflect her inviting and colorful brand. One of the things I love most about Sincerely, Ellis is their relaxed and inviting atmosphere. As a woman with a love for fashion, Kayla knows that often times stepping into a small boutique can be intimidating because they generally have a reputation of being expensive. Kayla works to give customers the opposite experience with her boutiques. The motto at Sincerely, Ellis is “Fashion under $50”, so you know when you step foot in her stores that there will be lots of gorgeous options in your budget. From her fun and whimsical window displays to her warm and relaxed interior complete with a couch for husbands, your shopping experience is sure to be fun and enjoyable.

To round out Kayla’s brand session, we took some photos of her and her husband,Jacob, both in the store and outside on historic Main street. Shopping small and local is near to Kayla’s heart, so she loves being able to build relationships with fellow business owners and boutiques in her community.
