Sharing your Personal Brand in the Wedding Industry

Your brand is one of the most powerful tools you have when in your wedding business. Every year there seems to be more and more competition within the wedding industry. And because people are busier than ever, couples are doing the majority of their wedding vendor research online. Now, we all know that reviews are more important than ever. But did you know that reviews are really just a qualifier? That’s because having excellent reviews is something that is expected, especially in a service industry. Once you pass the great review test, you have to find a way to stand out from your competitors. And because couples are increasingly selective with their time, they don’t want to visit more than a handful of vendors. This is why it’s so important that you show them you are worth their time!

How exactly do you do that? Through your own personal brand story! Dave Grohl said “No one is you and that is your power.” It really is as simple as that! So today I'm going to tell you why & how wedding vendors should be sharing their personal brand stories.

Here’s what you should be telling your audience through your brand story:

Your Why.

What made you start your business in the first place? What inspires you to keep going?

Who You Are.

What do you (or the point of contact person) look like? What does your space look like? What can customers expect when meeting you or visiting your location? Help them feel welcome before they even step through the door!

Who your ideal client is.

What kind of couples do you love to work with? What makes them special or unique? What do you have in common with them?

How you're going to make their wedding day perfect.

How are you unique from everyone else offering the same services in your market? What makes you the best choice?

No one is you and that is your power.

By sharing your brand story and being consistent you will:

shape the way your audience perceives you.

By sharing valuable insight, tips and behind the scenes content, you’ll be seen as an industry expert.

Tell potential clients what to expect.

Sharing your client experience is crucial. The more you can paint a picture for them of the entire booking process and wedding day experience, the more likely they are to trust you

show your audience how you're different.

Again, by sharing content that speaks to your unique strengths, services and personality you’ll be able to establish yourself as a one-of-a-kind vendor worth investing in.

Now that you understand WHY you need to be sharing your brand story, let’s talk about HOW!

Your first step should be writing out your brand story and identifying 3-5 core categories that you will be sharing content about. If you need help, download my FREE Discover Your Brand Stories Workbook

Next, you’ll decide which platforms you want to post to, how often you want to post, and schedule out your topic ideas in advance.

Once you have a plan in place for what content you’ll be sharing and when, you’ll need images to support your content. This is where scheduling a personal brand photo shoot is incredibly helpful! Together, we’ll sit down and review your content plan, identify the types of images you need (think website, social media posts, and marketing, etc.), and plan out the perfect props, locations and outfits to perfectly capture your brand story.

Once your photo shoot is over, I’ll get right to work on editing your photos and will deliver a gallery full of custom brand photos that will last up to an entire year!
